Dear NSA Members and Friends of Nawakwa:

This year’s general meeting was held Saturday, November 17 at 2 p.m. in the Camp Nawakwa Dining Hall.    Most of the member comments we’d received prior to the meeting expressed the interest in continuing to meet informally or socially, but the majority of members stated they voted for the dissolution of the NSA.

A motion was made to dissolve the NSA.  It was seconded and approved.

A discussion then took place regarding the distribution of the remaining NSA funds totaling approximately $1800.  A motion was made to give $1000 of this money to the campership endowment fund with the remaining money to go toward the funding of a cabin porch, with the stipulation that if the additional $1200 necessary to fund the porch was not raised by the end of the year, all remaining money would be given to the endowment for camperships.  This motion was approved.

What do you think?  Are you interested in the NSA donating the materials for a cabin porch?  If you’ve been to Nawakwa in recent years, you’ve seen how nice these porches are.  A porch would be a lasting reminder that the NSA did indeed exist at one time.

We’d like to conclude our business as an organization, close our banking accounts, eliminate the post office box, and otherwise wrap up our formal business in a timely manner.  So if you are interested in donating to the porch, please send your donation before the end of the year.

The suggestion was made that we try to get together in the spring for an informal gathering.  If you have an idea or a date in mind for a get together, please send out an e-mail or get in touch with me and I’ll pass the message along.

Thanks for your support of the NSA.  I’m proud to have been a part of this organization.

Sincerely,

Kris Kiessling
